Shona Mitchell, Head of Operations South West, Skills Development Scotland (SDS)

Shona started her career in the Greenock office of what was then Strathclyde Regional Council, Careers Service.  She worked as a Careers Adviser across many schools before becoming a Senior Careers Adviser.  With the creation of Skills Development Scotland, Shona took up the post of Team Leader with subsequent moves to the Area Manager role and then as Head of Operations for the South West.  Shona has been with SDS and its predecessor organisation for more than 26 years now and has worked across Inverclyde, Renfrewshire, East Renfrewshire and Glasgow.  Shona now has the privilege of leading the team in South Lanarkshire as well as having responsibility for six other local authorities.
